Abstract
The paradigm of information theory plays a crucial role in understanding and analyzing the fundamental properties and processes of information in various fields of science. Today, there is no general paradigm in information theory. The absence of an information paradigm in general may be due to a variety of factors, including the limited research in this area of science.
The authors, considering the results of their scientific research and on the basis of the definition ‘information is knowledge’, formulate an information paradigm that is of primary importance for understanding and analyzing the fundamental properties of both information processes and the matter.
Within the notion of a ‘paradigm’, the following ideas have been proposed:
– the statement exists independently of the matter;
– the statement acquires content and participates in purposeful interaction only in information systems that complement this type of knowledge;
– the statement is always presented in the encoded form, but its content does not change depending on the type of a code;
– information exchange between material information systems occurs through physical interactions related to the transmission of codes;
– creating new statements is possible only within the information system;
– information can be associated with information systems that exist in another reality and do not physically interact with our material universe.
